About iDEX Prime X

iDEX Prime X is an upgraded, high-impact defense funding initiative conceived by the Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO), Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, Government of India.

Designed to address high-complexity technological challenges requiring higher capital outlay and multi-disciplinary engineering, iDEX Prime X awards up to ₹10 Crores in non-dilutive grant-in-aid to mature startups and MSMEs.

The program covers advanced defence domains including Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radars, electronic warfare (EW) countermeasures, secure military satellite data terminals, tactical drones with AI targeting, and unmanned marine vehicles.

Winners collaborate directly with operational military commands, receive technical guidance from DRDO and Service Headquarters, and qualify for guaranteed procurement orders under the fast-track Defence Acquisition Procedure (DAP).

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)

Eligibility Rule 1

DPIIT-recognized Startups, MSMEs, or technology corporations incorporated in India.

Eligibility Rule 2

At least 51% of equity shareholding must be held by Indian resident citizens.

Eligibility Rule 3

Must possess established technical capabilities, labs, and skilled engineering personnel.

Eligibility Rule 4

Must submit a comprehensive proposal answering designated iDEX Prime X challenge statements.

Eligibility Rule 5

The technology must be designed to reach TRL 7 or above within 12 to 24 months.

Eligibility Rule 6

All key personnel must clear mandatory Ministry of Defence security clearances.
