About Karnataka Amrita Startups

The Amrita Startups Scheme is a flagship affirmative entrepreneurship initiative launched under the Karnataka Startup Policy by the Department of Electronics, IT, BT and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka.

Specifically engineered to dismantle systemic capital barriers faced by female entrepreneurs, the scheme provides up to ₹50 Lakhs in non-dilutive grant-in-aid to high-growth, technology-driven startups founded and led by women.

The grant funds critical stages of venture growth, including research and development, prototype enhancement, intellectual property acquisition, marketing campaigns, and hiring core technical talent.

Recipients also gain comprehensive acceleration through Karnataka's network of K-tech Innovation Hubs, world-class mentorship from leading corporate leaders, and priority market access under Karnataka Government procurement frameworks.

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)

Eligibility Rule 1

DPIIT-recognized Startups registered in Karnataka as a Private Limited Company or LLP under 10 years of incorporation.

Eligibility Rule 2

At least 51% of the equity shareholding in the company must be held by one or more female founders/directors.

Eligibility Rule 3

The women founders must be in executive decision-making and operational leadership roles.

Eligibility Rule 4

The startup must be developing an innovative, scalable product or process in technology, biotech, or allied sectors.

Eligibility Rule 5

Must have a validated Proof of Concept or functional prototype with clear market potential.

Eligibility Rule 6

Entity must maintain its registered office or primary operations within the state of Karnataka.
