About KSUM Productization Grant

The Kerala Startup Mission Productization Grant is a specialized financial grant initiated by the Electronics & IT Department, Government of Kerala, to assist early-stage innovators in transforming laboratory prototypes into commercially viable, market-ready products.

Targeted at startups that have demonstrated a functional Proof of Concept (PoC), the grant delivers up to ₹7 Lakhs in milestone-based funding to cover industrial design, UI/UX refinement, hardware tooling, safety certifications, and field beta testing.

Innovators gain direct access to the world-class Super FabLab at Kochi, featuring advanced additive manufacturing, CNC milling, laser cutting, and printed circuit board (PCB) fabrication suites.

The program acts as a crucial de-risking mechanism, bridging the critical chasm between raw innovation and market readiness while preserving 100% equity for early-stage founders.

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)

Eligibility Rule 1

DPIIT-recognized Startups with valid registration on the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) portal.

Eligibility Rule 2

Entity incorporated as a Private Limited Company or LLP in Kerala (or with primary operations in Kerala).

Eligibility Rule 3

Must possess a working laboratory prototype or validated Proof of Concept (PoC).

Eligibility Rule 4

The project must address a clearly defined problem statement with significant commercialization potential.

Eligibility Rule 5

Founders must demonstrate necessary technical capabilities or domain expertise.

Eligibility Rule 6

Student startups and university spin-offs from Kerala engineering colleges are highly encouraged to apply.
