About Maharashtra Student Innovation Challenge

The Maharashtra Student Innovation Challenge is a flagship grassroots entrepreneurship initiative spearheaded by the Maharashtra State Innovation Society (MSInS), Department of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Government of Maharashtra.

Conducted across all 36 districts of Maharashtra, the challenge seeks to discover, nurture, and fund high-potential student innovators and collegiate entrepreneurs tackling critical regional and industrial challenges.

Winning teams in each district receive cash seed awards, certificates of merit, and direct fast-track admission into premier government-funded incubators across Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, and Nashik.

The program provides student founders with rigorous bootcamps, intellectual property filing aid, dedicated mentorship from marquee entrepreneurs, and direct qualification for the prestigious Maharashtra Startup Week.

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)

Eligibility Rule 1

Students currently enrolled in any ITI, Polytechnic, Undergraduate, Postgraduate, or PhD program in Maharashtra.

Eligibility Rule 2

Recent graduates (within 2 years of completing degree) from recognized institutions in Maharashtra.

Eligibility Rule 3

Individual innovators or multidisciplinary student teams (up to 4 members).

Eligibility Rule 4

Must present an innovative concept, proof of concept (PoC), or working technological prototype.

Eligibility Rule 5

The project must address a tangible problem in sectors such as AgriTech, HealthTech, EdTech, Mobility, or Smart Cities.

Special awards and recognition categories for women-led student teams.
