The National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations - PRomoting and Accelerating Young and Aspiring technology innovators (NIDHI-PRAYAS) is a flagship prototype development program launched by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India.
Engineered specifically to support hardware and technology innovators at the 'Idea-to-Prototype' stage, PRAYAS provides direct non-dilutive grant-in-aid of up to ₹10 Lakhs to translate laboratory concepts and novel designs into physical, functional working prototypes.
Operating across a nationwide network of PRAYAS Centres (PRAYAS SHALAs) established in premier Technology Business Incubators (TBIs at IITs, NITs, and central institutions), innovators receive 100% subsidized access to 3D printers, CNC machines, laser cutters, and electronic testing suites.
The scheme serves as the ultimate early-stage de-risking instrument, enabling hardware entrepreneurs to build robust Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) without surrendering equity or incurring personal debt before seeking venture capital.

The applicant must possess a novel hardware, IoT, medical device, clean energy, or deep tech concept.
Startups incorporated as a Private Limited Company or LLP under 3 years of existence are eligible.
Must apply through an officially approved DST PRAYAS Centre / PRAYAS SHALA TBI.
The project must focus on physical prototype fabrication (pure software apps without hardware integration are not covered).
The innovator must be willing to work physically or in close coordination with the host PRAYAS incubator.
