About RKVY-RAFTAAR Seed Stage Funding

The Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana - Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sectors Rejuvenation (RKVY-RAFTAAR) Seed Stage Funding is the flagship agri-entrepreneurship program launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India.

The program provides non-dilutive seed-stage grants of up to ₹25 Lakhs (providing 85% grant support with a 15% startup co-contribution) to innovative agritech and food-processing ventures that have developed a minimum viable product and demonstrated early field traction.

Implemented through 29 designated R-ABIs (RKVY-RAFTAAR Agribusiness Incubators) hosted at prestigious agricultural universities and institutes such as ICAR-IARI (Pusa), MANAGE Hyderabad, CCS HAU, and IITs, the program delivers 2 months of intensive agribusiness acceleration.

Funded startups scale solutions in precision farming, AI/IoT in agriculture, post-harvest loss reduction, farm mechanization, climate-resilient inputs, bio-fertilizers, and direct-to-consumer farm supply chains.

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)

Eligibility Rule 1

DPIIT-recognized Startups incorporated as a Private Limited Company or LLP in India under 5 years of existence.

Eligibility Rule 2

The startup must have a minimum viable product (MVP) or functional prototype in agriculture and allied sectors.

Eligibility Rule 3

Must have completed or be willing to undergo the 2-month Agri-Incubation training at the designated R-ABI.

Eligibility Rule 4

Founders must be willing to commit 15% matching contribution toward the total project expenditure.

Eligibility Rule 5

The entity must not have received concurrent funding for the exact same milestone from other central ministries.

Eligibility Rule 6

Startups led by rural youth, agricultural graduates, and women entrepreneurs receive priority evaluation.
