About StartupTN TANSEED

The Tamil Nadu Startup Seed Grant Fund (TANSEED) is the flagship early-stage seed funding program spearheaded by the Tamil Nadu Startup and Innovation Mission (StartupTN), MSME Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.

Formulated to position Tamil Nadu as a top global startup ecosystem, TANSEED provides up to ₹15 Lakhs in equity-free grant capital to high-potential startups developing innovative products, scalable business models, and high-impact technologies.

The grant is disbursed in milestone-linked tranches, supporting critical startup development phases such as prototype refinement, MVP deployment, market validation, trial production, and customer acquisition.

TANSEED beneficiaries gain access to StartupTN's extensive network of regional hubs, global market access programs, dedicated investor demo days (Tamil Angels network), and preferential state government procurement.

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)

Eligibility Rule 1

DPIIT-recognized Startups with active registration on the official StartupTN portal (startuptn.in).

Eligibility Rule 2

The startup must be registered in Tamil Nadu as a Private Limited Company or LLP under 5 years from incorporation.

Eligibility Rule 3

Must have developed a functional Prototype / MVP with initial user testing or validation.

Eligibility Rule 4

Must demonstrate innovative technological architecture, scalability, and defensible IP.

Eligibility Rule 5

Founders must have a clear roadmap for milestone execution and fund utilization.

Eligibility Rule 6

Startups from Tier-2/3 districts and female-founded enterprises receive special scoring advantages.
